From now on, sellers can use the Seller Assistant to directly check which of their product variations are eligible for Review Sharing. On January 7, 2026, Amazon announced that, going forward, reviews would only be shared between variations with minor differences—such as color, pattern, or pack size. The star ratings and review counts on the search results page now only reflect those reviews that are allowed to be shared across variations. Vine reviews for ineligible products will be reverted back to the original child ASINs, as long as Vine policies and limits allow it.
What do sellers need to consider?
Which variations can share reviews: Reviews are only shared between variations with minor, functionally neutral differences: e.g., color, pattern, or pack size. Variations with functional differences such as flavor or material do not share reviews. If variations are inconsistent or incorrectly set up, review sharing is disabled for the entire product family.
Reviews are only shared with correct usage: Amazon checks whether the variation theme attribute is used correctly and consistently. If products with significant differences are mistakenly listed as variations, no reviews will be shared—even for eligible attributes. Sellers should therefore carefully review their variation structure for plausibility and accuracy.
Keep an eye on Seller Assistant and Vine reviews: The Seller Assistant now directly shows which variations are eligible for review sharing. Sellers in the Vine program should also check which child ASINs are affected by the redistribution of Vine reviews and whether this impacts the conversion rate of individual listings.
