Amazon has introduced a new program for an accelerated compliance process for EU product safety. If products are certified by a participating certification body, Amazon will automatically retrieve the required EU compliance documents going forward. This eliminates the need for manual uploads by sellers entirely.
The program is designed to specifically prevent listing blocks due to missing or expired documents. You can view which certification bodies participate in the program and whether a listing is eligible directly on the program page in Seller Central.
What do sellers need to consider?
Automatic document retrieval instead of manual uploads: Once a product has been certified by a certification body participating in the program, Amazon pulls the EU compliance documents directly from the organization. Sellers no longer need to upload certificates and proof of conformity themselves in Seller Central or renew them manually when they expire.
Check eligibility and participating organizations: Not every certification body is part of the program. The current list of participating organizations—along with the check to determine whether a specific listing is eligible for automatic retrieval—can be found on the program page in Seller Central under the EU product safety section. If you work with a non-listed body, you must continue to submit documents manually.
Avoid listing blocks proactively: Until now, expired or missing compliance documents have regularly led to listing blocks. The new program is intended to reduce this risk, but it requires that the certification is actually held by a participating organization. If you are currently working with non-listed bodies, you should check whether switching to a partner organization would make sense in the long term.
