Amazon is rolling out the tool Brand Registry Rank Catalog Contributors. This allows brand administrators to set the order in which Amazon considers content submissions from Selling Partners with a brand role (Brand Representative or Reseller).
If multiple accounts of the same brand submit different values for an attribute, the brand’s ranking order applies: Amazon reviews the contributors starting with rank 1 and selects content accordingly. Only accounts that have actually contributed to the specific attribute are considered.
At launch, Brand Registry automatically creates an initial ranking for all linked Selling Partners, which you can then adjust. The rollout is phased.
What do sellers and vendors need to know?
How the tool works: Under “Manage” and “Rank catalog contributors,” administrators select the brand and assign ranks either by entering them or via drag-and-drop. Additional contributors can be added using “Show unranked contributors.” Rankings can be saved as a draft or copied from another brand. Until all earlier contributions have been reprocessed, it may take up to 10 days.
Create an Impact Report before publishing: Amazon recommends generating an Impact Report before every change, as new rankings can trigger unintended catalog updates—for example, broken variations or inconsistent listings. The report shows which ASINs are affected and which values would change. Creating the report can take up to 24 hours.
Prioritize your own accounts, check the ranking: If you have your own seller and vendor accounts alongside distributors or resellers on the same ASINs, you should review the automatically created ranking and move your own accounts up strategically. Removing an account from the ranking does not block it, but its contributions are then considered with the lowest priority. If the tool is not yet visible or shows “Not eligible for ranking,” Amazon says there’s nothing to do. You cannot enable it via support.
