Starting January 11, 2027, new requirements for product bundles will apply in the US Amazon marketplace. The updated bundle policy requires that most bundles listed as individual ASINs must be packaged by the original manufacturer or the original brand.
Exceptions apply to authorized repackaging with a permission letter from the brand owner, certain categories such as gift browse nodes and camera products, as well as for virtual bundles created using the corresponding tool. At the same time, some previous restrictions are removed: bundles are now also allowed in the Books, Music, Video, DVD, and Video Games categories.
Non-compliant bundles will be deactivated after January 11, 2027 and recorded as listing violations in the Account Health Dashboard. Sellers should review their existing bundles now and, if necessary, sell through or update them before the deadline.
What do sellers need to know?
New baseline rule starting January 2027: Bundles that are listed as individual ASINs must, starting January 11, 2027, be packaged by the original manufacturer or the original brand. Bundles assembled in-house without authorization will no longer be allowed and will be deactivated. Affected listings will then appear as a violation in the Account Health Dashboard.
Three ways to stay compliant: If you want to continue selling your own bundles, you have three options: first, obtain a permission letter from the brand owner and upload it to the Account Health Dashboard; second, list them in exempt categories such as gift browse nodes or camera products; or third, use the Virtual Bundles tool, which does not require physical packaging and is available to brand owners and authorized resellers.
New categories and added flexibility at the same time: The update also removes previous restrictions: for the first time, bundles are now allowed in Books, Music, Video, DVD, and Video Games. In addition, bundles that include generic products, service plans, gift cards, and multi-brand bundles can be created in the Consumables category (with a permission letter). Non-compliant FBA inventory can be recalled in advance from the fulfillment centers via a Removal Order.
