eBay has updated the requirements and scoring logic around Top Service Performance. Sellers who want to achieve or maintain this status should be aware of the new criteria and adjust their processes accordingly.

The Top Service status affects the visibility of listings in search results as well as access to certain seller benefits on eBay. If you don’t meet the requirements, you risk lower rankings and the loss of privileges.

The changes primarily impact metrics such as shipping speed, cancellation rate, and buyer satisfaction. Sellers should review their current KPIs in the seller portal and ensure they meet the thresholds on a sustained basis.

What do sellers need to consider?

  • Scoring logic for Top Service Performance: eBay evaluates the service status based on multiple KPIs, including cancellation rates, shipping on-time delivery, and cases decided in the buyer’s favor. The status is recalculated monthly, so improvements or declines are visible right away.

  • Keep an eye on the specific thresholds: To achieve or maintain the Top Service status, the rate of transaction problems generally must not exceed 2%, the cancellation rate should be below 0.5%, and shipments must arrive on time for the most part. These values can be viewed in the seller portal under My eBay in the Seller Dashboard area and monitored monthly.

  • Impact on visibility and fees: Sellers with Top Service Performance benefit from better placements in search results and receive a discount on the sales commission in certain categories. If you lose the status, you should identify the weakest metric and optimize processes such as order fulfillment or return management first—rather than adjusting every area at once.
