Amazon has expanded shipping templates for FBM sellers in Germany: Manual shipping templates can now be configured at the second postal code level. Instead of the previous 10 regions, there are now 95 regions available.
This enables significantly more granular control of delivery promises depending on the destination region. Sellers who were only able to roughly control their delivery times by federal state or large region will particularly benefit from this expansion, especially with varying carrier transit times within Germany.
What do sellers need to know?
From 10 to 95 regions: Previously, manual shipping templates in Germany could only be configured based on 10 broad regions. With the second postal code level, there are now 95 regions available. This allows for much finer differentiation, for example between metropolitan areas and rural regions with longer carrier transit times.
Optimize delivery promises precisely: If you have so far used generally conservative delivery times to cover regions with poorer carrier connections, you can now differentiate. Easily accessible regions receive shorter promises, while remote areas receive more realistic information. This reduces the risk of late shipment rate violations and can also improve conversion in well-served regions.
Adjust settings in Seller Central: The new level is available in the shipping settings under shipping templates. Existing manual templates will not be automatically migrated to the new structure. We recommend reviewing active templates and reconfiguring them if necessary, especially if you use different carriers or your own logistics with regionally varying transit times.
