Amazon has expanded the Image Manager in Seller & Vendor Central: Sellers can now track whether the images on their product detail pages come from their own account or from other sellers. The Image Manager marks images as *Live* or *Not live* and provides the account number and merchant token. This innovation significantly improves image management across different accounts.
What do sellers & vendors need to consider?
Actively use transparency: With the Image Manager, image sources can now be clearly assigned. Use the new image sources to regularly check which images are live on your detail pages. This way, you can keep your brand perception under control and actively approach other merchants who overwrite your images, asking them to upload the same images.
Targeted quality control: Since Amazon selects the images that best meet the image requirements, all uploaded images should be optimized. Use high-resolution, appealing images with the correct background to maximize the chance of being displayed live.
Check trademark rights: Those who have correctly registered their trademark rights with Amazon have significantly more control over the images used. Make sure that no other sellers can claim your brand in order to avoid unwanted image changes and to retain full control over your product presentation in the long term.
