Gepp’s Fine Foods is a family-run company based in Puchheim near Munich that has been developing premium fine foods based on proprietary recipes since 2012. The product range includes sauces, dressings, vinegars, oils, spices, pasta, antipasti, sweets, and gifts. A key quality feature is the avoidance of artificial additives and flavors in favor of transparent ingredient lists. Through retail stores, its online shop, and Amazon, Gepp’s reaches both private and business customers.

For many years, Gepp’s Fine Foods focused heavily on brick-and-mortar retail and the in-store experience. As a result, the product range and design were not fully aligned with the needs of online commerce. In 2019, the company identified Amazon as a scalable channel, but lacked marketplace-ready products. To achieve success on platforms like Amazon, a strategic shift toward a marketplace-optimized assortment was necessary. The main challenge was to fundamentally adapt the portfolio for digital scalability, visibility, and conversion.
We began with a detailed analysis of all Gepp’s products as well as the Amazon grocery category in terms of market potential and competition. This was followed by the targeted development of Amazon-fit products, such as shipping-optimized, high-margin gift baskets and hero products with clear positioning. Listings were thoroughly optimized with high-quality content, professional product images, and data-driven keyword research. A well-crafted pricing strategy, structured Amazon advertising campaigns, and ongoing performance monitoring and optimization resulted in a scalable, profitable assortment.

By focusing on high-quality, Amazon-ready gourmet gift baskets and a consistently optimized marketplace setup, Gepp’s was able to rapidly scale and establish its online business profitably. In the very first year, the newly developed gourmet gift baskets generated over €1 million in sales with an ACOS of 11.6 percent. Ongoing expansion into new categories has ensured sustainable success for more than six years, continuing to drive double-digit percentage growth to this day.
