eBay has announced that from mid-February the fees for sellers will be adjusted. The changes affect both the sales commission and certain service fees. These measures are intended to further expand the service and create additional value for buyers and sellers. In particular, smaller sellers are now faced with the challenge of rethinking their pricing strategy to compensate for the increased costs. eBay emphasizes that the adjustments will provide new tools and resources designed to make selling on the platform more effective. Customer service optimization and enhanced sales features are the focus of these innovations aimed at facilitating sellers’ growth.

What do sellers need to consider?

  • Adjust pricing strategies: The fixed fees are increasing from 35 cents to 45 cents for orders over €10. The variable commissions are rising from 2% to 3% above certain thresholds. Prices and margins need to be analyzed in order to maintain competitiveness.

  • Optimize seller costs: Sellers should review their calculations to ensure they remain profitable even after the eBay fee increases. Especially with low margins, it is worthwhile to adjust sales prices or the product range.

  • Utilize new tools: eBay is investing in SpeedPak shipping, optimized ads, and landing pages. These tools should be used proactively to boost conversion rates and offset additional costs in the long term.
