The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires origin, geo, and legality data for certain goods (e.g., coffee, cocoa, wood). The application will be implemented in stages: for medium and large companies from 30 December 2025, for micro and small companies from 30 June 2026. From then on, affected goods may only be placed on the market if a due diligence statement with geocoordinates and proof of legality is available. In this way, the EUDR gradually ensures deforestation-free supply chains.
What do vendors and sellers need to consider?
Check assortment: It should be clarified whether your products are subject to the EUDR. Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 (EUDR) lists all affected raw materials and products.
Organize data: For affected products, geocoordinates, supplier information, and proof of legality must be fully available.
Set up processes: Responsibilities, IT interfaces, and risk assessments should be tested before the effective date.
