As of July 1, 2026, Amazon will discontinue its preparation and labeling service for the European market. This change affects all shipments handled with Fulfillment by Amazon within Europe. Inventory managed through Amazon Global Logistics and Multi-Channel Fulfillment is also affected. Sellers will in future need to ensure labeling and preparation of the goods themselves or via third parties. This requires an adjustment of logistics processes and may require additional resources to carry out these tasks.
What do sellers need to consider?
Set up labeling process internally or externally: Since Amazon will no longer handle labeling from July, sellers must establish their own process in good time – either in their own warehouse or via a 3PL provider. Those who have heavily relied on the service should start transitioning by May at the latest to avoid delivery bottlenecks.
Review AGL and MCF shipments separately: The discontinuation explicitly also affects Amazon Global Logistics and Multi-Channel Fulfillment. Sellers who handle international supply chains via AGL or use MCF for external sales channels should review all their inbound processes and document labeling requirements for each target market.
Recalculate preparation costs: The previous service came at a price – but external preparation also incurs costs. It is advisable to obtain quotes from fulfillment providers and include the additional costs in your FBA margin calculations before planning new products or assortments for Europe.
