Amazon is updating the requirements for Seller Fulfilled Shipping (FBM) on Amazon.de in several areas. The goal is to improve delivery promises, ensure more reliable service for business customers, and secure customs processing for cross-border shipments.

Starting July 15, 2026, a minimum OTDR of 90% will be required, along with adjustments to handling times at the account level. From September 1, 2026, listings may be deactivated if these requirements are not met. For business customers, starting September 30, 2026, a 90% delivery rate within business hours will also apply. For cross-border shipments from third countries into the EU, the new EU customs reform regulations will already apply from July 1, 2026.

What do sellers need to know?

  • OTDR Requirement from July 15, 2026: Amazon now requires an On-Time Delivery Rate of at least 90% for all FBM shipments on Amazon.de. This rate measures the proportion of units delivered on or before the promised delivery date. Dropping below this threshold risks deactivation of affected listings or losing the ability to offer new FBM products from September 1, 2026. The current rate can be viewed on the Performance Dashboard at sellercentral.amazon.de/performance/detail/shipping.

  • Handling times will be automatically adjusted: Starting July 15, 2026, only 0 and 1 day will be available as standard handling times at the account level. If you currently have 2 days set, you will be automatically switched to 1 day. Longer handling times will still be possible at the SKU level. From September 1, 2026, Amazon will also activate automatic handling time for SKUs where the set handling time exceeds the actual performance by more than 30 days or by one or more days. It is recommended to review and realistically update SKU-specific handling times now.

  • New requirements for business customers and customs: From September 30, 2026, a delivery rate of at least 90% within business hours will apply to Amazon business customer orders. If this is not met, affected listings may be deactivated for business customers starting October 30, 2026. In parallel, new EU customs reform regulations have applied since July 1, 2026: Shipments under 150 euros from third countries into the EU must use an approved carrier, the IOSS number from Amazon, and ASIN details must be transmitted to the carrier. Sellers who use all three Amazon automation features (automatic handling time, shipping settings automation, Buy Shipping from Amazon) will not be adversely assessed with regard to OTDR and business hours delivery rate.
