Amazon Vine limits reviews in variation merges from April 14, 2025. On that date, Amazon clarified its Vine guidelines: If multiple variations are subsequently merged into a parent ASIN, only the reviews from the highest originally enrolled Vine tier will be retained. The previously possible so-called stacking of reviews across multiple child ASINs will no longer be allowed. Each country version retains its own review cap, and reviews are aggregated exclusively at the parent ASIN level. This closes a loophole for artificially increasing the number of reviews and creates more comparability within variant families.
What do sellers & vendors need to consider?
Focus your Vine budget: The full Vine quota should be allocated to the main variation or to the variation expected to receive the best reviews—additional child ASINs will no longer provide an extra review boost.
Plan variant families in advance: The complete variant family must be established before enrolling in Vine, so that no reviews are lost during a later merge and the review limits (30 / 10 / 2) do not take effect.
Strengthen organic reviews: Since Vine reviews are limited, organic reviews become more important. If implemented in accordance with the guidelines, after-sales emails, product inserts, and excellent customer service can help generate additional reviews.
