The insights into remissions and recovery (returns tool) are available in the new Seller Central as of now. It gives sellers a central overview of return metrics for FBA and FBM, the most common reasons for returns, and specific recommendations for action.
In the column “Remission Frequency Badge,” in addition to the existing badges “High” (returned frequently) and “At Risk” (approaching this threshold), you can now find the new badge “Low” (the product is often kept). The badges are updated monthly, while the overall return rate is updated daily. Important: The badges only capture a portion of buyer returns and do not provide a complete picture of the return rate.
What do sellers need to consider?
Understand the badge system: The three badges Low, High, and At Risk are recalculated monthly and are based on a subset of buyer returns—not the full return rate. A product with the “At Risk” badge is approaching the “Returned Frequently” threshold. The overall return rate runs independently of this and is updated daily.
View FBA and FBM together: The tool shows metrics for both fulfillment models in a single view. Sellers that offer both FBA and FBM can therefore directly compare which model generates higher return rates. The most common reasons for returns help identify whether the issue is with the product, the description, or the packaging.
Use the recommendations strategically: The tool provides recommendations for resolving returns issues. Products with the High or At Risk badge should be checked first: Do the title, images, and bullet points match the actual product? Differences between what customers expect and what they receive are one of the most common reasons for returns on Amazon.
